Your Practice is open
Both the Poundhill and Copthorne Surgeries will be open fully from Monday the 4th of May but we have changed how we are working to help protect our patients, our staff and our community. We ask that you don’t come to either practice unless absolutely necessary or asked to do so by one of our team and have been putting in place lots of things to help with this.
GP and Physician Associate (PA) Appointments
All GP and PA appointments will be by telephone in the first instance and if the clinician you speak to is not able to help over the phone they can arrange for photos to be sent to us securely, a video consultation or a face to face appointment if required.
Acute Illness / Triage Appointments
These clinics are running as normal between 08:00 and 12:00 each day and a clinician will call you back to discuss any acute illness issues.
Nurse and Health Care Assistant (HCA) Appointments
When requested to do so by one of our team you will be given a face to face appointment with one of our Nurses or HCAs. We are spacing out appointments times as much as possible to limit the number of people we have in the Surgeries at any given time.
Online Appointments – Telephone only
We have turned on the function to allow you to book telephone appointments with the GPs or Physician Associate online for that day from 8:00AM. We will also have a handful of routine telephone appointments that will release over that week for you to book up a few days in advance. Whilst these appointments have booked time slots, please be aware the clinician may call you earlier or later depending on how busy we are.
Please do not come to the surgery to request your repeat medication but use the online system to request directly, email us at email@example.com , or call the pharmacy to request this.
We are sending all medications, where possible, direct to your chosen pharmacy electronically.
Most things we are able to deal with over the phone, by email or text. If you are unsure if you need to come in for something, please call us first to check.
Essential and non-essential service
We continue to provide all essential service to our patients but have suspended some non-essential things like routine medication reviews, health checks and minor procedures. This is to limit the number of people having to come into the surgery during the current pandemic. We hope to have all services fully restored in the near future.
If you are unsure about any aspect of your care or the services we are providing and how to access them, please call our reception team who are here to help.
From the Partners and the whole team, Poundhill Medical Group
The Pound Hill Medical Group
The present Pound Hill Surgery was opened in 1991 but we have been providing care to our patients since 1954 through our highly trained practice team. We provide a comprehensive range of medical services at Pound Hill and also at our branch surgery in Copthorne village.
We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.
Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.
Partners in Care
Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.
All treatment rooms and doctors’ surgeries are on the ground floor of both surgeries.
There are disabled toilet facilities at Pound Hill Surgery.
Copthorne branch has a ramp up to the main entrance for wheelchair users.
